EHD Pilot 2 - Construction Begins To Test MMC

Work is underway in Edinburgh to deliver 140 new affordable homes as part of the Edinburgh Home Demonstrator (EHD) Pilot 2. This pilot project is a key part of testing and refining the South East Regional Delivery Alliance (SE-RDA) Regional Typologies which meet the Housing for Varying Needs standard.

The project also provides an opportunity to trial two different Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) systems on site. While both systems meet the SE-RDA Design & Performance Standard, by comparing their design approaches, delivery processes and construction programmes, insights can be gained to inform future affordable housing delivery across the region.
